Dabu is a mud rest block printing technique from Rajasthan. Dabu print uses paste from mud, resin lime and wheat chaff. The paste is printed onto plain fabric using wooden blocks. The mud essentially resists the dye from entering the fabric, leaving those parts plain while the unresisted parts get dyed. This outer jacket was made from 100% surplus fabric - material that was leftover from other production and would have usually been disposed. By purchasing this garment, you're making a sustainable choice and saving the fabric from the landfill.
