Inspired by the village of Baragaon and the life of the weavers there, Bargaoan Weaves began with the aim of assisting weavers in distress. Their team brings together handloom weavers from different parts of the country with dedicated professionals from the fields of marketing, design, and social impact. Together, they're expand the reach of their weavers and bringing the complexity of handloom fabrics to the market :) 

Our fabrics come from skilful weaver Abdul Mateen and his daughters Shareen and Yashmeen. Weaving has been in the Mateen family for generations. Abdul has been weaving since he was a child and is a third-generation weaver. We're so heartened that two of his daughters - Shareen and Yashmeen are also weavers. Women are usually only involved in ancillary weaving activities while the actual weaving is done by men. So it makes us super happy that Shareen and Yashmeen are weaving themselves :)
