The Saaras dress is made with handblock printed dabu fabric with a cute stork print. The puffy short sleeves add volume. The calf-length midi style is suitable for all body types. This fabric is woven completely by hand, and no electronic machines were harmed in the process :)
Dabu is a mud rest block printing technique from Rajasthan. Dabu print uses paste from mud, resin lime and wheat chaff. The paste is printed onto plain fabric using wooden blocks. The mud essentially resists the dye from entering the fabric, leaving those parts plain while the unresisted parts get dyed.
